Haynes Whaley Helps Local Community

On May 3, 2012, Haynes Whaley’s Reston office worked with the Reston Association’s (RA) Environmental Staff to help create safe pathways to senior citizens’ garden plots.  The natural paths were steeply sloped making the trek to and from the gardens difficult.  Haynes Whaley’s crew shoveled their way through rocky red clay, leveled the soil and then installed 10-foot-long wooden planks along the borders of the paths.  These simple steps (along with sweat and muscle) made a significant difference in creating safer paths for the gardeners.

Also on this day, another Haynes Whaley crew assembled healthy snack bags for Reston Interfaith, a non-profit organization, that reaches out to neighbors in need.  Reston Interfaith will distribute the snack bags to after-school programs at community centers in low-income housing neighborhoods in Reston.
