Transwestern’s The Overlook at the Rim in San Antonio, Texas achieved LEED Gold Certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). Haynes Whaley Associates, together with the architect STG Design, designed the 3-story, 148,500 sf office building to be a prominent feature in San Antonio’s new Lifestyle Center, The Rim on Talavera Ridge. The building’s structural system consists of a composite concrete and steel floor framing. 3-story load-bearing concrete tilt-wall panels make up the building’s perimeter.

The project’s sustainable features include water-efficient landscaping, a heat island roof that uses Windtricity from CPS Energy, and light pollution reduction. The project was also recently awarded the “2008 Best in Commercial Real Estate – Best New Office Development Award” by the San Antonio Business Journal.
