In recognition of National Bike to Work Day, Haynes Whaley’s Tom Heffernan, Lee Ressler and Mike Edwards threw own their helmets to celebrate the benefits of cycling – good health, clean environment, saving money, etc. Tom rode 20 miles; Lee covered 16 miles on his trek; and Mike enjoyed a 29-mile Hammerfest. Aubrey Gentry and Gene Haynes founded Gentry & Haynes, Inc. in 1976. A few months later Larry Whaley joined them, and the firm name was changed to Gentry Haynes & Whaley, Inc. Aubrey left the firm in [...] Haynes Whaley Associates designed two 5-story tilt-up office buildings, approximately 110,000 sf each, on the Belvoir Corporate Campus in Springfield, Virginia. The buildings are mirrored in plan and are being erected simultaneously. Due to the slope of the site, the front of each building is four stories with an additional story in the back. A [...] Rice University reached a major milestone this October, celebrating 100 years since its founding in 1912. The university held various events on their grounds honoring their centennial, including a Lecture Series, Walking Tours of the Campus, Homecoming & Alumni Reunion activities and a Centennial Gala.
